American Legion Auxiliary
The American Legion Auxiliary welcomes you to Burlingame, Kansas.
The American Legion Auxiliary, although not the first such organization, is the largest patriotic women’s service organization in the world. Affiliated with the American Legion and chartered by the congress in 1920, the Auxiliary is a Veteran’s service organization and has volunteers in all 173 V.A. Medical Centers. The Auxiliary has expanded some Legion programs and has initiated others which serve women and families.
Eligibility is simple. Membership is open to female veterans and to grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, and great-grand daughters of American Legion members or deceased veterans who served in the Armed Forces during World War I and II; the Korean War; the Vietnam War; the Grenada; Panama, and/or Lebanon conflicts; the Persian Gulf War, and the War on Terror.
One day a lasting peace may eliminate the need for veterans’ organizations like the Auxiliary. Until then, the Auxiliary seeks new members to assist in the important volunteer work which supports our veterans and their families, enriches our communities, fosters patriotism, and enables is to give back to those who have insured out freedoms of religion, expression, and choice.
