Electric Rates

Your electric rate consists of two parts.  The first part is a monthly meter charge and the second is a fee for the electricity.  Below is the current rate chart.

Monthly Meter Charge $3.00/month
Residential Rate $0.0824/kwh
Commercial Rate $0.0803/kwh
Residential KCC Rate $0.0881/kwh
Commercial KCC Rate $0.0820/kwh
Economic Development Rate  
     200,000 - 400,000 (annual consumption) $0.0775/kwh
     400,001 + (annual consumption) $0.0682/kwh
Demand Charge $0.17/kwh
Security Light $6.15/month

 

Water Rates

Your water rate consists of two parts.  The first part is a monthly meter charge and the second is a fee for the water usage.  Below is the current rate chart.

Monthly Meter Charge  
     Special benefit districts (includes 2,000 gallons) $19.00/month
     All other areas (includes 2,000 gallons) $15.00/month
Water Usage Fees  
     Special benefit districts $0.74/100 gallons
     All other areas $0.69/100 gallons
Bulk water sales at power plant $0.70/100 gallons

 

Natural Gas Rates

Your natural gas rate consists of two parts.  The first part is a monthly meter charge and the second is a fee for the water usage.  Below is the current rate chart.

Monthly Meter Charge  
     Special benefit districts (includes 2,000 gallons) $8.50/month
     All other areas (includes 2,000 gallons) $6.00/month
Gas Usage Fees $1.55/mcf above actual cost

The actual cost of the gas each month is calculated using a formula developed with the assistance of the Kansas Municipal Gas Association (KMGA).  This formula is currently being reviewed and may be changed in the near future.  Each month the City receives a bill from KMGA that gives us an estimated price for the gas during the next month.  A history of the gas prices with the $1.55 added is shown below for your reference.  The date references the month the bill is due.

Sanitary Sewer Rates

If you are a residential customer your sewer rate is set on the average usage shown on your bills received in October, November, and December.  If you are a commercial customer your sewer rate is based on your actual monthly usage.

Residential/Commercial (includes 2,000 gallons) $10.17/month
     Additional usage (per 1,000 gallons) $3.00/month
Large Commercial (includes 13,000 gallons) $36.00/month
     Additional usage (per 1,000 gallons) $3.00/month

Trash Disposal Rates

The City of Burlingame contracts trash pick-up services through RSP, Inc. also known as Aards.  Aards has been the City contractor for almost 3 years.  The City has renewed the contract with Aards for an additional three years, through October, 2009, maintaining the current rates.

Commercial (includes 1 polycart) $21.00/month
2 Yard Commercial Dumpster $40.00/month
