The Burlingame City Animal Control is open for reclaiming and adopting out dogs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Unclaimed animals can be adopted on the 3rd day after being picked up. 

 If we have your dog or you would like to adopt one, please call City Hall at 785.654.2414 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
 Annual Dog Tags/License available at City Hall.  Please bring proof of current rabies vaccination from  veterinarians office.  License are due January 1st of each year and are only good for one that year.  If you purchase your license in the months of January or February, the is $6.00 per license.  If you purchase your license on or after March 1st, the cost is $7.00 per license.

 The Burlingame City Animal Control is responsible for promoting public health and safety, for temporarily sheltering and providing humane disposition of unwanted or lost animals, and for promoting animal welfare so that pet ownership is a pleasure for owners without becoming a burden to the community.
 
Any animal that bites a person must be destroyed and tested for rabies or held for a ten day observation period at the city's pound or an animal hospital.  Impounding, room and board fees are charged.

Any stray dog that is adopted through the City of Burlingame must be taken to a licensed

veterinarian within 3 days of obtaining the dog to get vaccinated and proof brought to City Hall.
