Burlingame Public Schools

All around Burlingame is a great school in a great town. If you're looking for a school with great friendly teachers and nice students, then Burlingame it is!

Here at the Burlingame Schools we pride our students to teacher ratio. It is 8 students to 1 teacher district wide. We also take pride in many other things. Our students can take dual-credit classes at Allen Community College and Kaw Area Technical School and we have a block schedule (a block schedule is where you only have 4 classes a day and then all 8 classes on Friday).

If you're looking for the small town atmosphere, we have it. You know almost everyone in your school and you have a more personal relatonship with your teachers. We have active anti-bullying policies and a very friendly atmosphere. At Burlingame we have equal opportunities for sports. You don't have to pay for sport try outs. We also have active social groups. One of the most popular groups is KAYS. In KAYS, you do volunteer work while having fun with your friends.

At Burlingame, we have up-to-date technology. We just recently purchased new computers and we have excellent facilities.

Allen Community College

One very good thing about Burlingame is that we have a community college right next door to the high school. Our students can take dual credit classes and they also have the opportunity to take classes at Allen Community College after school and on the weekends.

Allen offers a wide variety of classes. Ranging from computers all the way to music appreciation. All the teachers are very nice. They have a tough curriculum but their main priority is you, the student.

At Allen you can either get your associates degree or you can get a certificate. There are 16 different associate degrees and 19 different certificates. You can either take classes at the Bulingame campus, Iola campus, online, or WILD weekends. WILD weekends are when you go to class on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for two weeks. These classes make getting your associates degree easier and faster so you can take more classes in a single semester.

If you would like to attend Allen Community College, call 785.654.2416 to make an appointment with a counselor.
